Hello Everyone,
I have been out to B.C. and it is a beautiful province. I am really excited to have this opportunity and be able to go out there and be part of the Olympic experience.
Hello Everyone,
I have been out to B.C. and it is a beautiful province. I am really excited to have this opportunity and be able to go out there and be part of the Olympic experience.
As many of you know my work experience is wide and varied. I will not bore you with details but I worked the 1976 Montreal Olympics and when this opportunity arose I thought that this would be another great experience. We are a select group that represents GRT, Region of Waterloo and the province of Ontario. This in itself is an honor. I am proud to be a part of this group.
Dear fellow drivers going to the Olympics,
What do you think to take a colective picture of our team to put in “The Informer” or even in “The Record”!?
Fernando Bralha
Hi you guys. I guess I’m coming out to B.C. with you lot, and I am looking forward to having my very own bob sled team to come down the mountain with. 60 of us sliding down the mountain at one time. Might even make it into the Guinness book of world records as long as I can stop at the bottom and don’t do any work refusals it might just work. Drive safe and we will see you out there.
After almost 22 yrs. with Grand River Transit, I am really looking forward to working with and meeting another Team of Professional Bus Drivers, Bus Drivers from all over Canada and meeting people from all over the world during the Winter Olympics!
I have never been to B.C., so I feel privileged to be part of this exciting opportuntiy.
I’m going to miss Bill a lot, dogs Rusty and Joey, and the Kids and Grandchildren!
I’m leaving January 27th, at 2:00pm. and leave Vancouver, February 28th.
I’ll be back at work March 2! I’m staying at the Mountain Retreat Hotel in Squamish, BC.
Wow, I remember sitting in my Grandother’s house in 2003 watching it live on CTV, awaiting the vote counts to see which city would host the 2010 Olympics, I was still working in retail and never in a million years did I ever think I would actually ever get out to B.C., let alone be a part of making the Olympics happen!
So, after thinking about it since the posting went up at the garage and finally making a last-minute decision to apply to Whistler Transit, I too have been honoured with a position on the GRT Olympic Bus Driving Team
in Whistler from February 1 to February 28. Now all I have to do after sign-up is done is post about 20 giveaways/trades and off to B.C. I go …. so K-W co-workers, keep your eyes on the giveaway board in early December
.
I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures!
Cheers,
Warren Schnurr – Operator 468
I have been given a great opportunity to participate in the 2010 Olympics as transit operator. Meeting people from all over the world, sharing cultures and showing that Canada is a great place to live. I am honoured and priviledged to have been accepted and given the opportunity to share in these games. It is going to be the best games yet and I will be professional and make the GRT proud.
Bob Arseneault has completed the application process, and have received my Offer of Employment from Whistler Transit. I’ve been able to sign holidays for the first two weeks of February, but will have to arrange two more weeks to allow me to work the entire four weeks.
Can’t wait to join the Olympic Team!
Bob Arseneault, operator 304.
